Founding member of PNDS and associated with the society in different capacity since its inception in 2003. She was the Manager Clinical Nutrition at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi and established the first Nutrition and Food Service department in the country at the hospital. In the past she has also worked as a consultant Nutritionist at The Kidney Center ,Post Graduate Institute, Karachi.

She is currently pursuing her Phd in Public Health with major in Nutrition from University of Massachusetts, USA as a Fulbright Scholar. Her current research work is on "Dietary Patterns and Health Behaviors and the Risk for Hypertension Among Urban Adults in Pakistan". Her further area of interest is in renal nutrition, role of nutrition in the prevention of non- communicable diseases community health education and public health Nutrition.

She is the member of the editorial board of the 'Journal of Pakistan Medical Association' and the country representative for Asian Federation of Dietetics(AFDA) for PNDS .
